I’m now going to try the KX-Project drivers. Make sure your System restore is functioning properly, and do a manual restore point before attempting any installation. However on running the program in Win 7 under Compatibility mode SP2 and as Administrator, it crashed my Win 7 and I had to restart in safe mode in order to go back to a system restore point.Īnd I was only barely able to do it, something messed with System restore and my Graphics card, but luckily I was able to get it back without having to do a complete Win 7 re-install.Īt a certain point trying to install the SB LiveUniDrv pack – I got the Blue Screen with addages! data saying serious system error etc. This pack installs the creative mixer – recorder etc in XP – and also contains the drivers themselves. Most hardware was recognized out of the box, even a WiFi card that Windows XP never was able to find on its own.
There is no way Vista would approach usability on that old hardware, but Windows 7, suprisingly, does just fine. I’ve recently been playing around with my old Athlon XP 1800 box and Windows 7.
